What's Live

Two routes ship today:

Legacy Gemini Omni Flash and Omni Flash Edit stay online. Nothing breaks — 1.1 is the upgrade path when you want 360p iteration, start/end frames, or 4K delivery on the Omni stack.

Read the preview breakdown for Google's full announcement context. This post is what you can click and render today.

360p Drafts — Half the 720p Quote

The headline for batch work is native 360p: same duration ladder (4, 6, 8, or 10 seconds), about half the credits of 720p at every length. Iterate hooks in 360p, then rerun winners at 720p, 1080p, or 4K.

Workflow: board ten 9:16 variants at 360p → client picks two → final at 1080p or 4K on the same model. Compare the generate-button quote to Veo 3.1 Fast before you standardize a campaign — Omni 1.1 wins on cheap iteration; Veo still owns many flagship 4K hero passes.

Limitation: small faces and fine text can look acceptable in 360p but fail after platform compression. Upscale or regen at delivery resolution for paid placements.

Three Input Modes (Pick One)

Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 Video exposes the same studio rhythm as Kling Omni — three mutually exclusive modes:

Start/End — upload a first frame and optional last frame; the clip animates between them. Use for product morphs, whip pans, and locked A→B beats. Do not combine with reference images or character elements.

Ref Images — up to seven images, referenced as @Image1, @Image2, etc. Optional Google Flow voice preset when refs are attached.

Elements — up to three characters with @CharacterN tags (1–10 images per character). Voice presets apply here too.

Legacy Gemini Omni Flash only offers Ref Images and Elements — no start/end pair. That is the main reason to switch to 1.1 for frame-locked motion without jumping to Veo.

1080p and 4K in One Task

Request 1080p or 4K up front on 1.1 — the clip generates at 720p and upscales inside the same job before it finishes. 360p and 720p render natively.

A finished 360p clip can be upscaled to 720p only (not straight to 1080p or 4K) via the Veo 3.1 Upscale route if you need a cheap polish step. For delivery masters, request 1080p or 4K on the initial 1.1 render.

Omni 1.1 Edit

Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 Edit accepts one source video (≤30 seconds), a prompt, and optional @ImageN / @CharacterN refs. Reference the upload as @Video1.

Resolution: same 360p → 4K ladder as generate — pick output resolution in the Edit studio before you render.

Frame range: optional start_frame / end_frame when you only want to patch a segment.

Strong fits: wardrobe swaps, background restyles, localized color shifts on approved motion.

Weak fits: entirely new camera paths — regen on Omni 1.1 Video instead.

Deep comparison: Omni Flash vs Veo Fast.

Quick Start (60 Seconds)

Step 1: Open Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 Video.

Step 2: Pick Start/End for a morph, Ref Images for a product plate, or Elements for a named character.

Step 3: Set 360p and 6s for the first pass — read the credit quote on Generate.

Step 4: Rerun at 720p or 1080p when motion is locked.

Step 5: Patch wardrobe or background on Omni 1.1 Edit instead of a full regen.

Freemium is 15 daily credits. Most Omni 1.1 passes cost more than that — plan packs on Billing before a client board.

Limitations to Be Aware Of

Frame mode vs reference mode — the API rejects start/end frames combined with reference images or characters. The studio enforces separate modes; do not mix uploads across tabs.

Not every Google demo field — Google's launch post also teased long scene extension chains and short video reference inputs. Those are not on the Omni 1.1 SKU we ship today. If Google adds them to the gateway, we will expose them when stable.

Credits vary by duration and resolution — always confirm the generate-button total before batching. 360p is half 720p; 1080p and 4K cost more than 720p.

Got any questions left?

What is new vs Gemini Omni Flash?

360p drafts, start/end frames, and 1080p / 4K output on one SKU. Legacy Omni Flash remains for ref-heavy shorts without those fields.

How much does 360p cost?

About half the 720p credit quote at the same duration — verify in-studio before you batch variants.

Can I combine start frames with reference images?

No. Frame mode and reference mode are separate. Pick Start/End or Ref Images / Elements in the studio.

Does Omni 1.1 replace Veo 3.1?

No. Omni 1.1 is the fast Omni tier for short refs, drafts, and frame-locked beats. Veo 3.1 still leads many 4K hero jobs and Extend workflows.
