If you read our Grok Imagine guide from February, the lineup has shifted. Grok Imagine Video is again the primary xAI video model on Picturesque — fast text-to-video and image-to-video with reference images — and Grok Imagine Video 1.5 is the new official image-to-video path when you need longer clips and 1080p. The separate Grok Imagine Video Edit variant we described earlier is no longer on the platform; for continuation work, use Grok Video Extend in the Edit studio instead.

Grok Imagine Video: Utility T2V and I2V
Grok Imagine Video on Picturesque is priced from 20 credits per generation (duration and resolution affect the total shown in the studio before you render).
Duration ladder (1–10 seconds). Unlike models that lock you to 5 or 10 seconds, you can pick any whole-second length in the range. That matters for loop plates, 3-second product beats, and 9:16 social cuts that should not pad to an arbitrary grid.
Reference images. Attach up to seven images and call them out in the prompt with @Image1, @Image2, and so on — useful for locking wardrobe, product shape, or background palette while the camera moves.
Style presets. Custom, Normal, Fun, and Spicy presets nudge motion and exaggeration without rewriting the whole prompt.
Aspect ratios. 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 9:16, and 16:9 cover the usual delivery surfaces.
Grok Imagine Video 1.5: Official Long I2V
Grok Imagine Video 1.5 does not run text-to-video. You must supply a start image — typically a Nano Banana Pro or SeeDream 4.5 still at the correct aspect ratio.
Why teams reach for 1.5:
- 15-second ceiling on a single clip (versus 10 on base Grok Imagine Video)
- 1080p output when the deliverable leaves the phone screen
- Official xAI I2V weights when you want the provider’s native motion model rather than a general T2V interpretion of your still
Extend and Upscale (Edit Tab)
When a clip is almost right, regenerating from scratch wastes credits and composition luck.
| Tool | Use when |
|---|
| Grok Video Extend | You need more seconds on an existing Grok clip |
|---|---|
| Grok Video Upscale | The motion is approved but resolution is not |
