Why We Built Workflows on Picturesque

· 3 min read

At first, when we saw other AI platforms adding a workflows feature to their websites, we thought: what would even be the point of having this?

We figured it was just another thing they did because n8n and workflow platforms like that are trendy right now in the online get-rich-quick, vibecoding, B2B SaaS scene.

But when I decided to give it a go, I understood what the purpose was.

It wasn't to fully automate AI models and let them churn out AI slop while burning money. It was because users wanted a visual representation of the stories they were trying to create with AI.

No one actually likes stuff that "looks like it was created by AI." Neither do the creators of that content. People want to closely monitor what they're making, without the burden of rummaging through a million generated pics and videos, jumping from tab to tab in their browser, and forgetting what they were even doing this for.

Now they can write and plan out the story they want to tell using this sort of workflows feature: write prompts, generate in steps, make the changes they want before moving on, all while staying on track for what they want to do next with the previous output.

We don't want to add unnecessary features to our website. That's why we were skeptical at first. But after this experience, we decided that having such a feature really would improve our users' experience on the website.

Workflows are live on Picturesque now. Try them here.

Got any questions left?

How are Workflows different from Director?

Workflows are explicit DAGs you duplicate and template; Director (beta) plans natural-language batches in chat with upfront credit totals.

Why not use only ComfyUI?

Workflows give a Comfy-like mental model without self-hosting — hosted multi-model routing and one Picturesque credit wallet.

What is a typical Workflows use case?

Product still → three aspect-ratio branches → Kling hooks — the article’s examples mirror Higgsfield-style campaign batching.

Can Workflows share reference nodes?

Yes — one product plate can feed parallel prompt branches, reducing duplicate uploads and drift between variants.

Where do I open Workflows?

Workflows from the studio header.

What are Workflows on Picturesque?

Visual node graphs that chain Image, Video, Edit, and Audio steps with shared references — reusable across clients without re-clicking studios.
