UGC ads die in handoffs. The brief lives in Slack, the still is in Drive, and nobody wrote down which model burned 60 credits on the wrong aspect ratio. Director on Picturesque keeps planning, generation, and cost visibility in one thread.
Status: Director is in beta. If you do not see the tab yet, use the manual workflow in UGC product ad guide and open Director when your account is enabled.
Director vs Manual Studio for UGC
| Director | Manual studios |
|---|
| Planning | Chat shot list with credit estimate | You own the checklist |
|---|---|---|
| Model routing | Agent picks image and video models | You pick every dropdown |
| Best for | Campaign variants, new operators | Pixel-level control |
UGC Ad Skill Workflow
Step 1: Open Director and attach product stills or mood references.
Step 2: Invoke the UGC ad skill (or describe "vertical product UGC, 9:16, hook in first second").
Step 3: Review the proposed shot list and credit total. Approve before rendering.
Step 4: Download stills and clips, or push winners to Projects for permanent storage.
Step 5: Need lip-sync? Ask Director to route the hook to Talking Avatar or plan VO in Suno separately.
Skill details: UGC ad skill.
Manual Fallback Stack (Same Deliverable)
When Director is unavailable, run this sequence:
Step 1: Nano Banana Pro hero still at 9:16 (15 credits).
Step 2: Kling 3.0 or Hailuo 2.3 Fast motion (~60 credits or less).
Step 3: Optional Kling Motion Control hook (10 credits) on the portrait.
Typical three-clip batch: ~100 to 200 credits depending on video model and duration.
Limitations to Be Aware Of
Beta coverage. Skills and model routing can change week to week. Always confirm the studio path Director chose before client delivery.
Not a video editor. Trim, captions, and sound mix still happen in your NLE.
Credit-priced. Director estimates costs but does not bypass model pricing.
